Considering how vertical content has become much more popular than it used to be, many companies are jumping on the bandwagon and incorporating new features to make the user experience even better. YouTube Shorts are already very addictive for almost everyone who goes that route, but a new feature that the company has announced will allow creators to convert their regular videos into vertical content, all thanks to the new compositing tool that is about to be released.

YouTube is adding a number of features for creators who want to create Shorts with more convenience

YouTube has announced that the company is going to start the new recomposition tools, and the testing will extend over a couple of weeks. Once you've picked up a horizontal video that you want to recompose, you'll have the ability to adjust the layout, zoom, and crop a specific segment of the video. You will even get access to a split screen option that will help you save important parts of the long video.

Now, it's worth noting that it's nothing new, as there are various video editing tools that already allow you to do that. But considering how YouTube is going to start offering just means you're going to get a much more refined feature, and if you're just looking for one place for your recomposing needs, this works just fine and without a hitch.

Another new feature coming to YouTube called the Collab feature will be added to Remix. This is going to offer a side-by-side format where your shorts will be next to another vertical or horizontal video. This feature is already rolling out to iOS and will be available on Android later down the road. This is how it looks in action:

In addition to that, YouTube is also working on new stickers that you can add to your videos. Something that Instagram already offers. Creators will also be able to use question and answer stickers or other stickers. You will also be able to reply to comments with a Short if you want.

Another feature that I think will engage many creators and audiences is the ability to go live, but with vertical videos, which will appear in the Shorts feed. Considering how vertical content is becoming more and more popular, I think this is an excellent feature that YouTube is working on.

YouTube has also announced a number of features that are for creators, and these features are there to make your overall experience with the app even better. The streaming service will begin rolling out the features over the coming months, so make sure you're running the latest version of the app and you're good to go.
