The former NPD group (now called "Circana") has released its full North American sales data for June, and it was a very healthy month for the industry – in fact, the 2nd biggest June ever. Gamers spent $4.7 billion on games, add-on content and hardware in June, up 9 percent year-over-year. After the Switch climbed back to #1 in May due to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the PS5 was back on top last month – this was PlayStation's biggest June in terms of hardware sales since 2008.
On the software front, the highly anticipated Diablo IV was #1, followed by Final Fantasy XVI at #2 and Street Fighter 6 at #3. Other new additions include F1 23 at #15 and Story of Season: A Wonderful Life at #17. Meanwhile, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom held onto the #4 spot, and both Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales jumped back into the top 10 due to some sales last month.
